5 Simple Ways to Having an Unshakable Mindset

Distractions are anything that divides your attention or prevents you from concentrating on a task at hand.

They can present themselves in the form of a television show to a church, sorority or business meeting, to family responsibilities to health issues.

I meet many Christian women that have a deep desire to live their life on purpose doing the will of God and feeling fulfilled.  Yet, somehow, somewhere, life has slowly entangled their desire and left a wake of frustration, disappointments, and uncertainty.

If you truly desire to bring forth what God has placed in your heart, you must have an unshakable mindset.

Several years ago I wrote an article God placed on my heart entitled “Can You Hear Me Now?” in which I posed a question about the difference between a woman moving in her dreams, her vision, her calling; and a woman that wasn’t.  I suggest taking a few minutes and reading it.

As this writer stated “You have to have a ‘whatever it takes’ to carry out your calling.  It’s not enough to be clear. You have to have a very developed and unshakable mind in order to stay focused and on purpose no matter what comes your way.  Take your eyes off your circumstances and focus on moving your vision forward.  The vision can’t help BUT to manifest.” ¹

My friends, unshakable mean you have a very deep desire to serve God with your life, no matter what.  It means being unmovable, firm, determined and committed.

To help you developed an unshakable mindset here are 5 Simple Ways to Having an Unshakable Mindset

    1. Set Priorities:  God first, family second, then work last.  That’s what you’ve always heard isn’t it?  But how many people do you know actually follow that saying; yourself included?  Family is important and work pays the bills but God said to seek Him first and His righteousness and everything you need would be added unto you.  Whatever is important to you is what you will prioritize in your life.  Get real with yourself and determine what’s vital for you to live a life of purpose.  Then resolve to make the necessary changes that will help you get your priorities in order.
    2. Set Limits:  In order to have an unshakable mind you’ve got to limit the number of activities that impugn on your time.  Woman of purpose, when you have a mandate on your life to impact those around you, you don’t have the ability to focus, the strength or the resources to give your time to everyone and everything that wants it!  Reduce your availability and invest the time you’ve gained on bringing forth your vision.
    3. Set Goals:  Write the vision.  Simple, really.  Your goals do not have to be very big, they can be as small as you registering a business name URL by the end of the month!  But you’ve got to give yourself a reason to reach higher and keep going, or else you will stay stagnant.  Determine what you want to accomplish, when you want it completed, how you’re planning on doing it and what happens after it’s reached.  Take one step at a time.  Before long you will be on the path that leads to success.
    4. Set Expectations:  Having an unshakable mindset says you expect things to happen if you move in your obedience.  You expect doors to open, you expect God to give you guidance and strength.  You expect Him to hold you in His hand when you just don’t know what else to do.   You expect a harvest if you’ve been planting seeds.  You have to expect that faith and your actions will yield the results!!!  You expect and you believe.
    5. Set Your Faith:  Unshakable faith says you are in this for the long run and you are willing to do what it takes to see it thru.  It’s you taking the time to learn the lessons God will bring and to stay committed thru the wilderness and valley experiences. Its understanding that seeking God’s face is important in getting directions and studying His word to keep you strong.  It’s you knowing that prayer, praise, study and worship is important in keeping you fortified – and doing it!  Unshakable faith says “Yes, Lord, I will do, say, be, and go where you need me, even when it’s not my will.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Have an unshakable mindset and you’ll see your vision start to manifest!

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm.  Let nothing move you.  Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.  1 Corinthians 15:58
