DEVOTIONAL: Give Me Understanding

devotional get understanding

“Give me understanding, and I will keep your laws and obey it with all my heart.”  Psalm 119:34

Understanding, why do I need it?  Law; what does it mean?  Heart; whose?

Can you imagine yourself speaking to God in an intimate conversation speaking the words of Psalms 119:34 above?

Can you picture in your mind how sweet a sound those words would be to His ears?   His child asking to know more about Him; desiring understanding of the Words He had written.  What did they mean, why did He have them written and what was happening during the time it was written?

His son, His daughter, coming to him, all because of a desire to obey His word to do His will and to live a life pleasing unto Him!

A new level of intimacy where obedience is better than sacrifice and manifesting His will is an attitude.

When David wrote that particular verse he was speaking from the heart and you can too.  Your heart, where the issues of life flows: your heart where His words can be written upon.

Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it (Prov. 16:22 KJV). Be bold!  Speak those same words to Him.  Allow Him to see your heart and your will to serve Him.

In all your ways, get understanding!
