Is God Mad At Me?

Is God Mad At Me?

by Tereciah V. Smithen-Quintana

That’s the caption on the back of a magazine I read recently.  Sometimes, if we’re not careful, we can go through life thinking just because we are not doing, acting or performing in a certain manner worthy of a Believer in the Body, that God might be upset at us.

That’s the furthest thing from the truth!

God loves us and He only wants what’s best for us.  He is a patient and forgiving God and He is wanting to have a relationship, yes, a very close one, with you.

He knows all about you, so He knows what He’ll get!  When we make mistakes or sin against Him, we shouldn’t take it lightly but we should repent and move on.  Move on to His promises in and over our lives.

Sometimes we think that because we are not where we should be spiritually, mentally, emotionally or physically in our lives with God, that He is disappointed in us.  He’s notThose are thoughts and emotions the adversary uses to keep us away from God.  To keep us feeling unworthy of His grace and therefore feeling diminished in who we are in Christ.

So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power[a] of the life-giving Spirit has freed you[b] from the power of sin that leads to death. The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature.[c] So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit. Romans 8:1-4

So, here’s the short and sweet answer to the question above: No, God is not mad at you!

Be Blessed!
