A Lesson in Driving

Tereciah V. Smithen-Quintana

I recently took a trip where I drove – by myself – sixteen long hours going and coming.  It was totally out of the norm for me and before I could talk myself out of it, I made up my mind and did it.

For me, anything over four hours drive is long and for me to drive by myself to parts unknown was a no-no!

When I mentally made the decision to take the drive I also mentally made the decision not to entertain any negative thoughts.  I had to prepare my mind and therefore my ability to do what I knew I wanted to.  No “what ifs” or “buts.”

With two young boys and a disabled elderly father in tow, those “what ifs” were trying their hardest to creep in!

But determination won and faith guided.

Today, commit to accomplishing a new goal.  Something you’ve wanted to do but wasn’t quite sure how or if you could do it.

One – Determine you are going to do it and when.
Two – as you make plans, prepare your mind. Refuse to allow any negative thoughts to assail you.
Three – Gain the encouragement you need through scripture and friends.
Four – Pray and then move!  You’ll find the water isn’t as deep as you first thought!

Step out into the deep my friends.  Your blessing is waiting on you!

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Phillipians 4:13

Be Blessed!
