Name Your Fear; What’s Holding You Back?

Today, I want to talk to you about fear.  Yes, fear and how it hinders the manifestation of God’s will for your life; your purpose.

When I first heard this particular definition of fear it got me thinking about how it pertains to purpose.  The definition simply said:

“Fear is the lack of surrender or submission to God.”

It’s basically not believing God to provide, protect, and make happen or do what He said He will do if we follow Him.

What if you had no fear?  What would you do differently?  How would you act? What would you take on and accomplish?

Can I be honest with you?  When I was asked the question of fear by a mentor a few years back I had to do some serious, heart searching, take off the barricade type inventory.

Fear had shown up in my life when I felt insecure and I had no support – no one to talk to about this journey I was on.  There were times I had a no-hold-bars type attitude when it came to doing what God placed in my heart.

Other times I would feel so overwhelmed with what God had literally shown me in visions that I wouldn’t move!   The assignment just seemed to so massive and I felt – alone, and I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how I was going to accomplish all He asked of me!

I came to realize that Fear was the enemy’s way of keeping God’s children immobile from completing and impacting the world around them like they are supposed to do. Many times we speak with our mouths words of affirmation but we don’t FULLY believe it in our hearts.  Meaning there is a minuscule of doubt somewhere hidden behind all the I Am’s, I Can’s, and I Will’s.

Here is what I would like for you to do today.  Get a piece of paper and write all the fears you are experiencing concerning bringing your God ordained destiny to fruition.  Don’t feel like writing then say them out LOUD.  Its call confession and it’s good for the soul.

For every fear you listed find a promise in God’s word that counter acts the fear.  This mean you have to actually read and study your Bible!  Use the concordance in the back to search for your topic.

It’s time for you to step out of your old self, your old way of thinking and take off your old wine skin.  The old skin of doubt, fear, what if’s and step into the new you.  The person that God is fulfilling!

To your greatness!
