Releasing the Doubt and Worry

For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7

For the last couple of weeks I had been working on a project that I have in all honesty, procrastinated about completing. Why?  Because I was afraid. It seemed enormous and I had never done something like it before.

There comes a time when you have to be brutally honest with yourself.  I knew the Word of God, I knew His promises over my life, but like yourself, I fight every day to walk in the spirit and not the flesh.

Yes, I knew, but the doubts still came.

When I finally acknowledge and dealt with my fear with asking God for forgiveness, and deliberately tackling the project with God’s Word, I could feel God grace, wisdom and knowledge working through me.

You may be in the same situation I was in; knowing you have an assignment from God but hesitant about completing it because of doubts and fears.

I had a mentor that once told me that FEAR was “the lack of surrender and submission to God.”

What does that mean?  It means believing what our physical eyes see, giving in to our physical emotions and not surrendering our all because we are afraid that God “just might not come through.”

Are you fearful that finances won’t be there to cover your daily expenses if you quit your job and step out on faith?  Are you having doubts that you will never be able to birth a child after hearing what the doctor had to say?  Are you being double-minded in your ability to complete a task you’ve never done before?

God said he “will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.” Psalm 32:8

Your human but you’re also a child of the Most High, God!  Admit your fear to God, repent, eradicate it with spiritual cleansing and then encourage yourself with the Word of God.

Don’t retreat from the world around you in doubt and worry.  Allow yourself to bask in God’s goodness, His mercy and His promises!

For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him A-men, unto the glory of God by us. 2 Corinthians 1:20

He said to cast all of our cares upon him, and guess what?  He’s not like man that He should lie!

Be Blessed!
