Stuck Between Obedience and Fear

So you’ve got this crazy dream that is so big that it intimidates you, and you find yourself wondering “how in the world am I ever going to do this?!”  It’s not that you don’t think you can do it; it’s more like how will you do it? How will you accomplish everything God has shown you as possible?

That’s a million dollar question.

We all know the spiritual answer – with His help.  But in the natural, our mind wants to have an idea of what the Father will do.  And that, my friends, is the crazy part!  When He does show us what He wants us to do, sometimes we find ourselves stuck.  Stuck between obedience and fear.

Do you find yourself picking and choosing what part of the vision you’re willing to obey God for?

Many times we say we’ll say we want to do great deeds for God.  We want to be purposeful and accomplish much.  But when He places opportunities before us, we tend to determine if we’ll complete the tasks base on the degree of difficulty.

If it’s in our comfort zone, then we jump at the opportunity to do it.  But outside our comfort zone; then we’re asking God why He chose that particular task and if we really have to do it the way He asked.  The Spirit of Fear rears its ugly head and our doubts fuel its growth.

Not everything God asks or tells us to do we will understand.  To be honest with you, many times we won’t understand!  But you still have to trust Him.  You can’t pick and choose what areas of your vision you are willing to manifest based on what you can see with your natural eyes.

You can’t trust Him to help you write a book when you’ve never seen yourself as a writer. But then run scared and balk when He tells you to leave your job of 10 years in corporate America and work the assignment He’s placed in your heart full-time.

Hebrews 11:1 says “Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen.”  You don’t see with your natural eyes the ability, but you see with your spiritual eyes, mind, and soul the possibility.

Determine if you’ve picked and chose what part of your vision you’re willing to trust God in, and what areas you’ve decided you won’t.  Then release it to Him and set about making it right.

To your greatness!
