What’s your favorite Bible verse?

by Tereciah V. Smithen-Quintana

I have quite a few myself, but every day I like to say “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth!”  It’s like my daily mantra.

It’s a reason why you may favor one verse over another. It could be it describes who God is to you.  It could be an issue you over came.  It could be something that you’re going through at the moment and God has you meditating on a verse, making it personal.  It could also be a promise that God has declared over your life and you say it every day to remind yourself not to give up.  Whatever it is, and whatever verse it is, it’s your mantra.

Psalms 34 and verse 1 for me is my way of saying, “I love you Lord, and no matter what, you will still and forever be my God.”

Do you have loved ones – spouse, children, parents, close friends?  Ask them what their favorite bible verse is and why it is for them.

Use that verse as a way to hold a conversation about God with them.  Perhaps to give and gain encouragement.  I can guarantee you, as you talk about your verse, and they talk about theirs (or why they don’t have one), God will be glorified and you will have just touched someone’s life with genuine interest.

Bless the Lord, oh my soul and all that is within me.  Bless His holy name!

Be Blessed!
